European Week for Waste Reduction Highlights Electronic Waste

EGF Drives Actions Across the Country

 

The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) 2025 takes place between November 22nd and 30th, with a special focus on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), a rapidly growing stream with a strong environmental impact. The initiative also aims to promote the essential principles of reduction, reuse, and recycling, encouraging citizens, public and private entities to adopt more sustainable practices.

 

EGF and its concessionaires are once again partnering with EWWR, promoting a series of actions that reinforce the importance of prevention, awareness, and valuing waste.

Partnership with the Municipality of Famalicão in the “Environmentally Friendly” conference.

Partnership with the Municipality of Guimarães in various awareness-raising initiatives on urban waste and WEEE.

 

RESULIMA

Visit to the facilities by the delegation from the Municipality of Barcelos.

Partnership with the Municipality of Viana do Castelo in a plogging action, raising awareness among participants.

Partnership with the Municipality of Pombal (offering Ecobags in exchange for the delivery of recyclables).

Awareness-raising action in partnership with the Municipality of Marinha Grande. Internal action regarding the destination of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) through the dissemination of an informative poster.

Receipt of small quantities of hazardous waste at the Lumiar Ecocenter during EWWR.
