CASQ - Committee on Environment, Safety and Quality

It has the responsibility of:

  • analyze the actions arising from internal and external audits of environment, OSH and quality;
  • analyze the compliance and development of the policy, as well as assess Valorsul's Integrated Management System (SGI) and Valorsul's overall performance in terms of environmental, SST and quality
  • intervening, where appropriate, in the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the SGI;
  • prepare the periodic review of the SGI and send it to the Administration
  • check the SGI documentation;
  • comment on all issues considered relevant to environmental, SST and quality management and ensure that they are addressed in Valorsul's overall strategy.

CSHST - Committee on Safety, Hygiene and Health at Work

It has the responsibility of:

  • intervene in the definition of the policy with regard to the OSH domain and assist in the actions necessary to disseminate its knowledge;
  • monitor compliance with legal, contractual and regulatory provisions regarding the prevention of Health, Hygiene and Safety at Work;
  • to ensure that all workers receive adequate OSH training, to foster their collaboration in practice and to observe measures to prevent accidents at work and occupational diseases;
  • to promote and stimulate awareness-raising and awareness-raising campaigns on prevention of Health, Hygiene and Safety at Work, implementing the participation of workers in this campaign;
  • sensitize the management of the company to solve existing Hygiene and Safety problems;
  • establish general standards for CSHST recommendations.

Local Monitoring Committee of the Center for the Treatment of Urban Solid Waste (CTRSU)

It is responsible for monitoring the environmental performance of the activities carried out at the Valorsul incineration plant, and is led by the Municipal Council of Loures. This Commission was created in 2011, through Dispatch no. 10682/2011 published in the Diário da República, 2nd series, no. 164, of August 26, 2011. This order revoked Dispatch no. 16111/99 , published in Diário da República, 2nd series, no. 193, of August 19, 1999, date of creation of the previous committee to follow up this installation.

This committee shall consist of the following elements:

  • Councilor of the environment of the Municipality of Loures, which he presides over;
  • Superior technician of the Loures City Hall;
  • Superior Technician of the Municipal Services of Loures;
  • Representative of the Coordination and Regional Development Commission of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo;
  • Delegate of health of the municipality of Loures;
  • Representative of the Parish Council of São João da Talha;
  • Representative of the New University of Lisbon, Faculty of Science and Technology;
  • Representative of local ONGAs.

Follow-up Committee for the Organic Treatment and Valorization Station (ETVO)

It has the responsibility of: monitoring the construction and the activity phase of the unit involving the stakeholders, providing current information and listening to the expectations and proposals of its members.


Commission for the Follow-up of the Western Urban Waste Treatment System (CTRO)

It has responsibility to monitor the environmental performance of the activities developed at the Waste Treatment Center of the West and is led by the Municipality of Cadaval.

On October 29, 2003, a protocol was signed between this Commission and Resioeste (a company merged with Valorsul in 2010), which defines the scope and objectives of the work together.

This Monitoring Committee consists of the following elements:

  • 3 citizens nominated by the Municipality of Cadaval.
  • 2 citizens nominated by the Parish Council of Vilar.

Currently, the constitution of this Commission is as follows:

  1. Dinis Acácio Nobre Duarte - Councilor for the Environment (indication of the Municipality of Cadaval)
  2. Luís Filipe Parreira da Silva Neves - Head of the DSUAE (indication of the Municipality of Cadaval)
  3. Rui de Jesus Félix dos Santos - Representative of the Parishes of Cadaval and Pêro Moniz (indication of the Municipality of Cadaval)
  4. Maria Alexandra Santos de Azevedo (indication of the Parish Council of Vilar)
  5. Ana da Graça Basso Venancia Faria (indication of the Parish Council of Vilar)
