Valorsul develops, by its own or in partnership with the municipalities, associations, schools, universities and local governments, several environmental education activities and initiatives.

With regard to Recovery of waste the school has a vital role to play. To enable children to learn to live with and experience these themes from an early age, Valorsul has created the Ecovalor programme - an educational and environmental awareness programme.



It is a group project undertaken with the schools and Municipalities of Amadora, Lisbon, Loures, Odivelas and Vila Franca de Xira. The programme supports the Municipalities in carrying out several activities describing the final destination, treatment and value given to the more than 750.000 tons of domestic waste produced per year in the Greater Lisbon area. The Ecovalor Programme is a fun and pedagogical way not only for pupils, but also for parents and teachers, to learn more about the importance of separation of waste helping to reduce, reuse and recycle waste and improve the Environment.
