With the purpose of endow the organisation with management tools that may help to achieve and demonstrate a solid performance, either in what concerns the environment either in what concerns health and safety at work, Valorsul is now implementing an Environment Management System and a Health and Safety at Work Management System according to the models specified in the norm NP EN ISO 14001 and in the OHSAS 18001 (NP 4397), respectively.

In the first phase, these systems are being implemented in the Municipal Solid Waste Processing Plant (CTRSU) and in the administrative areas of the head-office. Later, its implementation will take place in the other integrate management system operational units of Valorsul S.A. With this, Valorsul aims that the Environment and the Health and Safety at work are faced as part of the company's global management system and that Valorsul could be as a whole.



Both systems, in what concerns the support documents, are structured in four big groups: Environment and Safety Manual (ASM) - Part I, General Procedures (Part II of ASM), Specific Procedures and Work Instructions (part III of ASM) and other auxiliary documentation such as the registries, technical specifications, operation manuals, guide books, regulations, legal requirements among other documents.



With those systems implementation, it's expected that several advantages occur for the company and for its workers, namely the systematisation of individual and separated actions, prevention and control of risks, either environmental as of health and safety at work, pre-established safety criteria observance, improvement of electric power and other type of consumption control, as well Valorsul's image reinforcement near its clients, local community, official entities or other interested parts.
